Experiment station near Merom Golan

On Tuesday Novemebr 21st, 1972, there were exchanges of fire between Syrian and Israeli forces on the Golan Heights. The habitants were asked to go into the bomb shelters.

Micha Fichman, aged 27, who was the Kibbutz secretary in Kibbutz Merom Golan, went on his bicycle to verify that all Kibbutz members were safe. Minutes later a heavy bombardment started and many shells fell in the Kibbutz area.

Micha, who was standing at the shelter entrance, was hit and was killed.
