On Saturday eve 2nd of May 1980 around 7 pm a group of people came out from prayers at the Ma'arat HaMachpela in Hebron walking towards Beit Hadasa. As they almost arrived in Beit Hadasa shots were fired from Hebron houses from three directions.
Six people were killed, sixteen wounded.
The house built was named after the six men that were shot.
