On December 1st, 1985, 24-year-old Nitzan Mendelson flew in an EgyptAir plane from Athens to Cairo. Hijackers who took over the plane made the pilots land in Malta. On the ground they shot Israeli and American citizens.

Nitzan was killed.

 

The playground in her memory is located in the center of Hulata, where she lived.
