On Tuesday, May 29th, 2001, 40-year-old Gilad Zar was shot by terrorists from an ambush at a junction near Jat village, not far from Kedumim.

Three bullets hit Gilad's head and he was killed.

The terrorists approached Gilad's car, shot him again, and made sure he is killed.

Gilad is commemorated in many places.
