On Wednesday, March 15th, 1948, with the outbreak of the War of Independence, 33-year-old Ari Leshner, an electrician in Kfar Blum, was fixing a wire cable that was part of the settlement perimeter. An Arab sniper shot him and killed him.

At the place where he fell there's a memorial plate that is sunk into the ground.

This is a unique way of commemoration. At the same place one can see also the original pole with the lamp that Ari came to fix.

Commemorized:

Arieh Leshner
