On March 14th, 2002, an IDF tank was patrolling the road between Karni and Netzarim. While in patrol the tank went on a large bomb buried in the ground. The bomb turned the tank and three of the crew died. Matan Biderman and Ala Kabishi 21 years old, rotem Shani, 20 years old.
In their memory the road from Karni to Netzarim was named after the six. After the disengagement the road was moved east and its now in the fields on Kibbutz Nachal Oz, a monument commemorating them was erected at that place.
