On Sunday, August 10th, 2003, Haviv Dadon, almost 16 years old, worked in the Municipality of Shlomi in the northern part of Israel. Haviv was working as part of the program for school children summer employment.
After finishing his work, while in the center of Shlomi, he was hit by a shell of an anti aircraft canon that was fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon. Haviv was killed on spot. Few of his friends were wounded.
At the place where Haviv fell his friends erected a cairn and lit candles, later at the same place a monument was built.
His family also produced a disc with songs in his memory.
