On November 27th 2008, a group of terrorists originated from Pakistan arrived to Mumbai India and launched a series of attacks on Hotels and restaurants. A group of terrorists stormed the Chabad house in Mumbai taking five hostages. India police tried to take the house for many hours, eventually when entering the building the five hostages were found murdered.
Chabad messengers to Mumbai, Gabi, 29 years old and his wife Rivki Holtzberg, 26 years old were amongst the killed. Their son Moyshe, 3 years old survived when his Indian nanny smuggled him out of the building and saving his life.
On April 3rd 2009, a corner stone was laid in Afula for a house of good deeds named after the Holtzberg couple. Stones from the house in Mumbai were brought and put as part of the corner stone to the new building.
