On Wednesday, June 16th, 2002, in the morning, Shani Avitzedek, 16 years old, was on her way to a school “fun day” in a swimming pool. It was a celebration for the end of school year, end of her tenth grade. Shani boarded the 32 city bus that will take her from Giloh where she lived to city center.
A Palestinian suicide terrorist who boarded the bus exploded a heavy bomb in the Pat junction, killing nineteen people and wounding eighty.
Shani was killed on spot.
