On Sunday, September 9th, 2001, two weeks after 42-year-old Yakov Chatzav started work as a driver, he was caught in an ambush and his bus was shot at by Palestinian terrorists The bus was full of teachers he took through the Jordan valley road.
A few teachers were wounded. Sima Franco, one of the teachers, and the driver Yakov Chatzav were killed.
