On October 27th 1938, The mayor of Tveria, Itzhak Zaki El-Hadif, 46 years old, with his Arab deputy mayor from city hall. The days were the days of the 1936-1938 riots in the country. Few minutes after leaving the city hall building El-Hadif was shot by a local Arab and was badly wounded, he died two days later.
