On Saturday night, November 15th, 2002, terrorists opened fire from an ambush at a group of soldiers patrolling the road between Hebron and Kiriyat Arba, the worshipers path, the place is known since then as “Death Alley”.
In the shooting that continued till the house where the terrorists were was taken, twelve people died. Among the twelve were three members of the Kiriyat Arba civilian response group.
Yitzhak Buanish, 46 years old, the security officer of Kiriyat Arba and commander of the response group that was called from home was killed.
