In second Lebanon war Nimrod Segev, 28 years old was called into reserve military service. Nimrod was a “Merkava” tank crew member and went with his tank into southern Lebanon.
On August 9th, 2006 while covering for some heavy Bulldozers who broke a new road near the village of Aiyta A-Shaab his tank was hit by a side road bomb and immediately after by an anti tank missile. From the explosion of the missile and the ammunition in the tank all four crew members in the tank were killed.
