On February 5, 2018, Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal was catching a ride in Ariel to his home in Har Bracha.
A Palestinian terrorist ran towards Itamar and stabbed him, Itamar was badly wounded and died in the hospital.
In the one year memorial the minister of transportation Israel Katz stated that the place, the roundabout at the exit from Ariel will be named after Rabbi Itamar Ben Gal.
