A Hook in Their Jaws: The Battle for Jerusalem Begins
While watchmen on the walls of
Jerusalem are giving G-d no rest day or
night until He makes the City a praise in
all the earth, the Islamic world and its
many allies are chomping down on the
Hook that will draw the nations into the
Valley of Decision.
Like a volcano imminently waiting to
spew forth its fiery lava upon the
innocent villagers below, the Muslim
community fixed its gaze on the
bulldozers chugging into the heavily
guarded Har Homa site in Israel's
Capital, Jerusalem, to make way for a
planned Jewish neighborhood. When the
scoops hit the dirt Islam's hot wrath
erupted upon the returned Remnant.
It all began with politically orchestrated
“palestinian” Arab protests, which soon intensified. The entire world had to
“witness” that Israel was once again
“agitating Muslim sensitivities.” No
matter that the Jewish State has been
hosting Her Muslim “guests” since 1948,
when they squatted in the Land of Milk
and Honey looking for jobs as Israel
built Her Country. No matter that Israel
has continually provided State-sponsored
programs to help Her “guests” attain a
good standard of living, in spite of their
Muslim leaders insisting they remain in
squalid refugee camps to draw
international sympathy and further the
Islamic cause. No matter that Israel
most recently offered to build Arab
housing on State-owned Land, which
amounts to 700 more dwellings than what is being built for the Jews on Har
Homa. No matter the numerous one-sided concessions Israel has already made and keeps on making in pursuit of
an ever evasive “peace” with Her Arab
and Muslim neighbors and “guests,”
who have unquenchable appetites.
No! This was a crisis... another Arab
crisis. And as an “an act of self-
defense,” as “palestinian” Authority
Official Farouk Kaddoumi would say,
the suicide bombers had to be unleashed.
The scene was a familiar one: Jewish
children picking out festive Purim
costumes. Parents getting ready for the
next day’s holiday in which the Book of
Esther is recounted and the power of
good triumphing over the forces of evil
is celebrated. The sunny day was
winding up and friends just couldn’t resist but to gather for coffee and
conversation at the Apropos Cafe in central Tel-Aviv.
Mohammed Abdel
Khader Animat thought it perfect, too, to
sport his best outfit and venture out on a
journey to “paradise.”
Paradise is everywhere to be found in
Israel. G-d's hand is on everything there.
It can be found in the Judaean desert
when it’s abloom with brilliant flowers.
Or along the Mediterranean where the
waves wash weakly upon the seashore.
It is seen atop the Golan Heights, the
Levitical City of Refuge, peering over
the Middle Eastern landscape. Or in the
heart of the Jewish People singing and
dancing throughout the Yeshuves and
the Old City streets.
So, saying goodbye to his wife and four
children, Mr. Animat left his village of
Sourif nearby Hebron in search of
“paradise.”
“Paradise,” as it were, would be reached
from inside Israel “proper,” in Tel-Aviv.
Mr. Animat knew it wouldn't be too
difficult getting into Israel's largest city
because he did it every day, for somehow
he obtained employment there without
having the necessary permits. And with
the pre-holiday hustle and bustle --
people showing off their costume purchases and planning their Purim parties and all -- who would even notice
him and his two large bags anyway. Besides, reflecting on last year, it would
be such an appropriate time, too.
Mr. Animat and his two bags did, indeed, show up in Tel-Aviv. He even
stopped for a spell at that cozy cafe, the
Apropos Cafe, just two blocks down
from Yizchak Rabin Square -- a site
commemorating the Jewish leader who
made exceptional strides toward the
“peace that has arrived” in Israel.
The view atop the balcony was quite
nice; but only a moment to savor it,
though, because Mr. Animat really did
have to be on his way.
Excuse me, sir. Uh, sir! You forgot
your ba....
Restaurant furniture flying. Storefront windows shattering. Building materials tumbling. Pieces of precious persons…
Sirens.
Three Israeli women – one with child – gone. Sixty people who were on their way to candy shops and florists, or gabbing over tea with friends; the businessmen bustling by, the man on the scooter … the six-month old baby in the Purim clown costume – burnt, bleeding; pleading for help.
Help to mend their broken bodies. Help to treat the shock; the confusion. Help to control the gripping fear and the overwhelming sense of powerlessness. Help to bear the grief that with each episode permeates every Jewish home. How to repair so many shattered lives?
This in not peace, friend.
There is no peace for the Jewish families
who will never again see their children
return from that March field trip to “The
Island of Peace.” Seven young lives
viciously silenced by a Jordanian soldier
rock'n'rolling with an automatic weapon
for his god Allah. Oh, how Corporal
Achmed Mousa al-Daqamsa was praised
at home in Jordan by parliament and
people alike -- the jubilant atmosphere
even spilling over to the other Arab and
Muslim states and to the thriving
Islamic terrorist organizations they
sponsor.
There is no peace for the two busloads of
Jewish children who survived the two
bomb blasts in Gush Katif the morning
of April 1 while on their way to
school. Two suicide bombers strapped
themselves each with 11 pounds of
explosives, approached the children's
buses and detonated themselves. The
armored plating on the buses prevented carnage. After the blasts, the Israeli
public got wind of the news that the two
terrorist “martyrs” came from a group of
eight Muslims who had recently been
trained and outfitted by the Islamic Jihad
and Hamas in “palestinian” Authority-controlled Gaza. The remaining six are
currently awaiting their orders to also go
out in glory while taking with them as
many Jews as possible.
There is no peace for the bus driver and
his Israeli passengers who were
inundated with firebombs while riding
past the Jalazoun “palestinian” refugee
camp on the outskirts of Jerusalem the
day after the Gaza bombings. The
passenger bus careened out of control as
the driver tried to dodge the seven angry
Arabs ambushing them. He and thirteen
Israeli soldiers inside were injured, some
seriously, when the bus finally flipped
and erupted into flames.
The fact is that deep within the heart of
every weary Jew, no matter how much
he longs for peace, he knows this is not
it -- this is not peace.
He hears the hate
that he cannot shut out as inflammatory
messages by Muslim spiritual leaders
blare from the mosque minarets dotting
his beloved Country. He tastes the
bitterness of a relationship gone sour as
his Arab friend of 20 years joins the
frenzied Muslim mob overrunning his
community to shouts of "Itbach al
Yahood (a popular Arabic phrase for:
‘Kill the Jews!’)!” He feels the anguish
pierce his heart as he places a pebble
upon his son's tombstone (symbolizing
that his loved one has not been
forgotten), which lay among the many
graves of young Israeli soldiers who
were cut down in the prime of their lives
defending their People from the
seemingly endless barrage of bombs,
Molotov cocktails, stones, cement blocks
and bottles. He smells the stench of the
rotten fruit this manufactured peace has
left behind in Jerusalem, Hebron, Beit
Lechem, Tel-Aviv, Gaza, Shechem,
Ariel Shiloh, Rafiach, Tekoa, Beit El,
Hizme, Beit Omar, Ateret, el-Bireh,
Omarim, and so many other areas within
his shrinking State, where tanks, armored
personnel carriers, water cannons, snipers, riot police, border patrols,
General Security Service agents, Yasan
Tactical Units and Israeli Defense Force
troops have become a necessity for
Jewish survival. He sees the he must
stand against the very gates of Hell to
build a Jewish neighborhood in his
3000-year-old Capital, which the world
wishes to strip from him in the hope of
replacing it with a bogus “capital of
palestine.”
Yet, in spite of the odds, there are those
of the Chosen Lot who are standing firm
in this Chosen Land and are crying out to
the G-d of the Hebrews for Deliverance
from this Oslo Piece-by-Piece Process. They are praying toward G-d's Holy
Mount Moriah, where the pagan shrine of
Allah defiantly stands, and where the G-d
of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Whose Eyes are constantly on that Place, does Hear. The banner of Truth has been raised by these faithful ones in Jacob for all eyes to see. The nations do see and tremble because Redemption is at hand, and riding on the heels of Redemption is
Judgment.
So the violence in the Land will continue.
It will proliferate.
International reaction will be swift and fierce, as it has always been when concerning this tiny plot of Land amid the Islamic sea of states. An outraged 185-member pro-Arab United Nations General Assembly will pass even more sweeping resolutions against the Jewish Remnant for building ... breathing in the Land. The Arab League foreign ministers will call more summits to ensure pan-Arab compliance to the freezing of “relations” with Israel and to
the reinstating of the decades-long
boycott against the Jewish State. More
malicious anti-Israel propaganda will
pour out of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia,
Kuwait, Syria, Iran, Libya, Oman, Qatar,
Malaysia, Britain, France, Norway, and
Morocco. The Vatican and the Greek
Orthodox Church will continue to
deceive many as they throw their weight
behind the fraudulent “palestinian” cause
in their sinister attempts to usurp Israel’s
sovereignty over Jerusalem, lest their
anti-Jewish doctrines be exposed. The
talking heads and glib gatekeepers of the
international media will continue to
peddle the Powerful Delusion that is
sweeping over our global village.
And Islam’s vessels of wrath – Fatah, Hamas, Hizb'Allah, Islamic Jihad, Amal, Abu Nidal, The Popular Front for the
Liberation of “palestine,” The
Democratic Front for the Liberation of
“palestine,” the “palestine” Liberation
Front, the “palestine” Liberation
Organization, and the “palestinian”
Authority, and their various factions and
general commands - will work hand-in-hand to step up attacks against “the
Zionist presence.”
Israel’s "peace" partner, Yasser Arafat, will continue to encourage and exonerate his Muslim brothers who bomb, stone, stab, ax, rape, and plunder “... those whom Allah has cast aside and on whom his wrath has
fallen and of whom he has made some as
apes and swine who worship the evil one
(This representative reference to the
Jewish People is quoted verbatim from
the English version of the Muslim "holy"
book, the Qur’an, Surah 5:61. The
language throughout the Arabic Qur’an
is significantly stronger in tone.).”
But the Jewish People serve the G-d of
Reality. And His promises stand. So the
tribes of Israel -- a great throng -- will
continue to come Home from the
Diaspora and go up to their beloved
Jerusalem. The L-rd of Hosts will
continue sending craftsmen to build up
Zion. Jerusalem, that ancient City that is
now the Apple of everyone's eyes, will
become an immovable rock, and all
those who try to move Her will be
injured.
The nations will reel from this,
as if drunk with wine, and they will
gather against Israel.
But the Holy One will be a Shield about His People; even a Refuge, and Judgment will come swiftly in that Day. No longer will Jerusalem be overrun by foreigners. The unclean will never again enter the City, which will be called “The Throne of the
L-rd.” All the righteous ones who mourned over Her will be comforted.
And there will be joy, for in that Day the Law will go forth from Zion and G-d's Shalom -- the True Peace -- will flow forevermore like a great river from Jerusalem: Jerusalem of Gold.
