On April 1st, 2002, Tomer mordechai, a 19 years old policeman was on duty in a check point in Jerusalem. Tomer noticed a suspected car approaching the junction and went towards the car. The terrorist in the car who saw Tomer activated the bomb and the car exploded, Tomer was badly wounded and died later that night at the hospital.

 

Tomer was decorated by the Police for his brave act. the story appears in the decoration page of the police (in Hebrew).

 

In Ramat Aviv, In Reding street, a garden in Tomer memory was dedicated by his family.
