On Saturday night, December 1st , 2001, Asaf Avitan, 15 years old and a couple of his friends wanted to celebrate one of the friend’s birthday. They went down Ben Yehuda street in Jerusalem to the “Katzefet” ice cream parlor. When they reached the place a Palestinian terrorist exploded near them. This was the first explosion in a series of three that night, two suicide murderers and a car bomb. Over a hundred were wounded, eleven were killed.
Asaf Avitan and his friend Golan Turgeman, 15 years old, were seriously wounded and died later that evening.
