On August 15 1938, Israel Loifer went to a nearby village to return his horse that one of his arab friends borrowed. He disappeared and was not found, his faith was unknown.
After many years and many efforts of Israel’s son and Giora Zaid it was found that Israel reached a camp of Bedouins near today’s Zur Shalom. The Bedouins killed him and took his body some 50 Km and hid him in a cave.
Only on 1990 his son found the remains of his father in that cave. The cave is accessible from the boardwalk near the settelments of Koranit and Schechnia in the Galilee.
