On June 29th, 2015, a group who finished a basketball game in the Binyamin regional league did her way back to their homes in Kochav Hashachar. On their way they were ambushed by Palestinian terrorists who opened fire on their vehicle. All passengers were wounded, Makachai Rosenfeld, 26 years old, who was badly wounded was rushed to a Jerusalem hospital where he died from his wounds.
