JNF Forest near Beer Ora

Dr. Pesach Maylen was happy to accompany a trip of the Herzeliya School to the Eilat area. On the second day of the trip on the evening of March 18th 1968 on a dirt road exiting Wadi Raham north of Beer Ora, the first bus went on a land mine laid by terrorists on the same day. Two people, Dr, maylen and a soldier Hanan Kalev were killed, tens of students were wounded.
Dr. Maylen was 35 years old when he died. Dr. Maylen left a pregnant wife a son and a daughter. Another daughter was born after his death.
