On Tuesday December 31st, 1968, Katyusha missiles were shot at Kiryat Shmona. 24-year-old Avraham Abukasis heard the whistle of an incoming missile and rushed to the street to warn the people celebrating New Year’s.
While he tried to warn them a missile fell near the group and Avraham was badly wounded.
He died later in the hospital.
